A Holmby Hills mansion tied to a business management firm to the stars topped last week’s additions to the local high-end inventory.
That’s according to the weekly report compiled by Marcy Roth of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team, which counts new active listings and homes under contract in Los Angeles County. The Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles factors in only homes listed in the Multiple Listing Service with an asking price of at least $4 million.
The resort-inspired estate at 145 North Mapleton Drive, which is listed by Compass’ Ginger Glass, is asking $48 million. That pencils out to $3,127 per square foot.
The over 15,000-square-foot property sits on nearly a 1-acre lot and last traded in 2020 for $36.5 million, or $2,378 per square foot. That was when a limited liability company called Maple Living purchased the home, striking a deal on a property that first hit the market for $55 million in 2019, according to property records and listing sites.
Maple Living is managed by Tri Star Sports & Entertainment, according to records obtained through PropertyShark. The West Hollywood firm represents actors, athletes, artists and other high-net-worth clients and has reportedly been linked to stars such as Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian in the past. Earlier this year, the company acquired Miami business management firm LRW Group for an undisclosed sum.
The Mapleton Drive home is big on privacy with the property behind 12-foot-tall gates and a guard house with its own kitchen and bathroom. In all, the home counts seven bedrooms and 14 bathrooms with a chef’s kitchen, bar, pool cabanas and home theater.
Among last week’s signed contracts was a Malibu home that claimed the No. 1 spot in the Eklund Gomes report, with a listing price of $7.5 million, or $2,707 per square foot.
The 1978-built beach house at 6649 Zumirez Drive, with its own private access to Little Dume, is owned by a trust tied to producers Paul Taublieb and Susan Cooper.
The Emmy Award winners paid $740,000 for the home in 1996. The duo is behind the documentary “Unchained: The Untold Story of Freestyle Motocross” and “The Vow,” a movie starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.
Coldwell Banker Realty’s Susan Monus holds the listing.
Taublieb and Cooper initially asked just under $8 million for the home in September, before reducing the price to $7.5 million in November.
The home sits on an over 1-acre lot and counts three beds and three baths across 2,752 square feet.
Overall, Los Angeles County saw five residential properties added to the for-sale inventory in the week, according to the Eklund Gomes report. Meanwhile, a dozen homes went into contract, which was good for $66.5 million in asking volume. That’s a spike of well over 200 percent compared to the same time last year.
