Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater will test the Los Feliz housing market again, after coming close to selling their modern-style residence just before the pandemic hit.
The duo is asking $2.9 million for 3019 Surry Street, or $837 per square foot.
Listing agent Heather Boyd of Carolwood Estates said the couple are looking to sell due to a relocation to the East Coast.
Rabe is known for her work on “American Horror Story,” starring in several seasons of the FX series. She’s also been in the HBO series “The Undoing” and Showtime’s “the First Lady” in more recent years.
Linklater starred in FX’s “Legion” and was also in “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “The Crazy Ones.”
The pair bought the home in 2016 for $1.9 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service and property records.
They then listed the home in late 2019, with a $2.4 million asking price and went into contract just a few weeks later. However, that deal didn’t move forward and once the pandemic hit, the pair pulled the listing, choosing to stay in Los Feliz through Covid, according to Boyd.
Since the home first hit the market last week, there’s been one open house that drew 30 parties, mostly families, to view the property, Boyd said.
The home’s four beds and five-and-a-half baths fan out across 3,457 square feet in a U-like shape around the pool. There’s also an office and outdoor entertaining spaces.
Boyd said “nuts and bolts” improvements were made to the property while the couple lived there, including new water heaters and solar panels.
Topping out recent deals in the Eastside neighborhood was the $13.5 million sale of 4533 Cockerham Drive. The June trade for $675 per square foot reflected the first time in several decades that the estate had been available for sale.
This year’s priciest deal so far in Los Feliz closed earlier this month when 2401 Nottingham Avenue sold for $8.6 million, or $1,197 per square foot. Boyd’s colleagues at Carolwood, Jonathan Mogharrabi and Marci Kays represented the buyer and seller in that deal, while Plus Real Estate’s Tyrone McKillen was also one of the listing agents.
