Los Angeles County signed contract activity last week trended up from a year ago, led by a Beverly Hills Flats listing.
The residence was one of 25 homes that went into contract last week amounting to $176.8 million in asking volume, according to a weekly report compiled by Marcy Roth of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team. That’s three more in-contract properties and an increase of about 19 percent in asking volume from the comparable seven-day period a year ago.
The Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles counts single-family and condominium properties listed in the Multiple Listing Service for $4 million or more.
Sitting at the top of last week’s listings to go into contract was 807 North Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills, which is listed for just under $25 million, or $2,157 per square foot.
The listing is held by the Oppenheim Group’s Jason Oppenheim and Oppenheim Real Estate’s Brett Oppenheim.
The Beverly Hills Flats residence sits on a 30,000-square-foot lot and counts six beds and eight baths. The gated estate spans 11,588 square feet and touts a tennis court, dry sauna and circular driveway among its highlights.
The property last traded in 2018 for $17.1 million, or $1,478 per square foot, to a shell company tied to Simon Barlava, president of Los Angeles textile design and importer Design Collection, according to property and state records.
Los Angeles County’s second-largest property to go into contract last week was in Los Angeles’ Sullivan Canyon, where the ranch-style home at 13214 Riviera Ranch Road is located.
The four-bed, four-bath property is listed for $11.9 million, or $3,170 per square foot.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties’ David Offer holds the listing.
The sellers are Jeffrey M. Worthe, who helms developer Worthe Real Estate Group, and Kristin P. Worthe. The philanthropic couple are long-time supporters of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The Worthes purchased the home in 2022 for $8.2 million, or $2,186 per square foot, property records show.
Amenities of the Cliff May-designed home include an over 23,000-square-foot lot, horse stables and chicken coop. Indoors, the property has wraparound windows in the living room, a primary suite that has direct access to gardens and a new kitchen.
