A newly built, Hamptons-inspired home asking $16.4 million in Pacific Palisades drove last week’s signed contract activity in Los Angeles County.
The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home, with an asking price of $2,085 per square foot, was completed last year and sits at 1675 San Remo Drive.
It’s one of 24 homes that went into contract last week, which was good for $143.7 million in asking volume, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles. That’s slightly down from the 25 contracts and $166.5 million in asking volume recorded a year ago.
The weekly roundup, which is compiled by Marcy Roth of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team, includes single-family homes and condominiums listed in the Multiple Listing Service for $4 million or more.
The seller of the Palisades home is San Remo Development, which is managed by Steven Gruman, according to property and state records. Beverly and Company’s Glenn Gruman and Sotheby’s International Realty’s Steven Moritz are the listing agents.
The over 7,800-square-foot home sits on nearly a third of an acre and features a floating staircase, butler’s pantry, theater, wine room, elevator and two electric vehicle chargers in the garage, according to the listing.
Last week’s second highest-priced home to go into contract, according to the Eklund Gomes report, was in nearby Malibu.
The home at 24650 Blue Dane Lane is listed for $8.7 million, or $2,788 per square foot. The Little Dume property last traded about a year ago for just under $8 million, or $2,565 per square foot. The buyer was Kathleen Ann Doyle, according to records in PropertyShark.
JCI Real Estate’s Judson Leibee holds the listing.
Built in 1977, the French Countryside served as inspiration for the over 3,000-square-foot home’s design. Vaulted ceilings, antique wood beams, ocean views in the primary suite and a garden are among the highlights of the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home.
