Café Gratitude, Gracias Madre owners score $17M in Beverly Hills Flats sale

American Hartford Gold executive chair ready for move in

Beverly Hills Estates’ Brent Watson and Marco Salari along, The Agency’s Billy Rose and 712 North Arden Drive in Beverly Hills

The owners of vegan hotspots Café Gratitude and Gracias Madre struck gold on the $17 million sale of their Beverly Hills Flats home.

Chris and Lisa Bonbright on Wednesday wrapped up the sale of their more than 7,000-square-foot home at 712 North Arden Drive to American Hartford Gold Executive Chair Scott Gerlis and his wife Michelle Gerlis, according to the Beverly Hills Estates.

The brokerage’s Brent Watson and Marco Salari represented the couple in their purchase. The Agency’s Billy Rose was the listing agent.

The purchase price equates to $2,398 per square foot.

The property went on the market about two months ago for just under $18 million, or $2,538 per square foot and went into contract about a month later, as previously reported by The Real Deal. The closing price represents about a 5 percent haircut from the original ask.

Wendy Haworth designed the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home, which was built in 1951. Haworth’s work can also be seen at a number of local restaurants, including the Bonbrights’ Gracias Madre Mexican food restaurant.

The Gerlises move into a home that took design cues from a resort with its own theater, gardens, pool, spa and guest house.

Beverly Hills has been on a tear in recent weeks.

The Arden Drive sale comes a day after the $41.3 million trade of 1005 Benedict Canyon Drive for $2,806 per square foot.

The home, once owned by Bruce Willis, was sold off market to a mystery buyer by Guess CEO Carlos Alberini and his wife Andrea Alberini. The Benedict Canyon Drive deal is now Los Angeles County’s second-priciest residential sale so far this year, according to Redfin records.

Beverly Hills also lays claim to the county’s priciest residential deal this year in 1111 Calle Vista Drive. That home sold off market last month, when an undisclosed buyer snapped up former Apollo Global Management CEO Leon Black’s mansion for $47 million, or $4,569 per square foot.
