CAC gives Bally’s nod of approval
The committee has approved Bally’s Bronx casino proposal in a five-to-one vote. The proposal is set to move before the state gaming commission.
The committee also approved proposal amendments to improve the community benefits in the plan.
Those who voted for the casino include: Rafael Salaberrios, appointed by Gov. Kathy Hochul; Alex Porco, appointed by State Senator Nathalia Fernandez; Matthew McKay, appointed by Assembly member Michael Benedetto; Paul Philps, appointed by Mayor Eric Adams; and Lisa Sorin, appointed by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.
Danielle Volpe, appointed by Council member Kristy Marmorato, voted against the proposal.
