Resorts World Queens casino project gets CAC green light
The committee has unanimously approved the casino proposal for Aqueduct Racetrack in a 6-0 vote. The proposal is set to move before the state gaming commission.
All members of the committee voted for the proposal: Stevens Martinez, appointed by Gov. Kathy Hochul; Nicole Garcia, appointed by Mayor Eric Adams; Betty Braton, appointed by Council member Adrienne Adams; State senator James Sanders, Jr., appointed by himself; Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Jr., appointed by himself; and Assembly member Stacey Pheffer-Amato, appointed by herself.
That makes for two casino proposals making it to the finish line today.
