It’s a small world if you’re a famous pop star or rap impresario in New York. It’s at least small enough to perform a “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” look at the famous musicians who bought and sold apartments over the last month.
Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, just put his four-bedroom, 4,300-square-foot loft at 169 Hudson Street back on the market after buying it last year. Combs paid $3.65 million for the apartment, and is asking $4.3 million.
P. Diddy was recently featured on a Beyonc song, “The Fighting Temptations.” The singer, who won five Grammys this year and sang the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl, just signed a contract for more than $9 million for two apartments – one for her and one for her mother – at One Beacon Court in the nearly completed Bloomberg Tower.
Beyonc ‘s boyfriend Jay-Z recently got some press when a bootleg version of his “Black Album” mixed with the Beatles’ “The White Album” was sold on the street. Beatles legend John Lennon’s son, Sean, has reportedly just gone into contract on a Greenwich Village townhouse for just under $6 million.
The four-level home has eight bedrooms, eight fireplaces and a double-sized parlor.
Incredibly, the 28-year-old Lennon is currently dating Elizabeth Jagger – the 20-year-old daughter of Mick Jagger, completing a link to ’70s soft rock singer Carly Simon, whose song “You’re So Vain,” was reportedly about the Rolling Stones frontman. Simon reportedly recently closed on a pair of apartments on Commerce Street in the West Village, paying $1.2 million.
