Meltzer Mandl has been tapped to design Westrock Development’s planned affordable housing rental development. The 108,000-square-foot building will contain 108 two- and three-bedroom homes, plus 11,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space and a basement parking garage, when it is completed in 2012. The designers are angling for LEED certification with Energy Star appliances in the apartments and eco-friendly building materials.

Black House Development’s 18-unit boutique condo is now complete and ready for immediate occupancy. Sales launched in April at the five-story, Enrique Norten-designed building, where offerings range from 744-square-foot one-bedroom units to 1,400-square-foot penthouses with private terraces.
