Ben Fox to build another retail brokerage

After eight years with Newmark Knight Frank, Ben Fox has moved on to build another commercial brokerage.

Fox, former principal and executive vice president at Newmark, is now president of Winick Realty Group, another commercial brokerage with a focus on retail leasing.

Last month Fox, Stephen Asch and Gary Alterman all left Newmark. Asch and Alterman have since joined Robert K. Futterman & Associates. The three joined Newmark after selling their retail real estate company New Spectrum to Newmark.

“It was time,” says Fox. “We were all ready to move on to the next thing.”

For Fox, that will be the opening of a Winick branch in Los Angeles in the next three months that will include possible acquisitions. Winick currently has one office in Manhattan at 655 Third Avenue. The firm has approximately 30 brokers and will add at least 10 more as part of the growth.

“What intrigued me about the position was the opportunity to build a company,” Fox said.
