Once a broker, always a broker.
Mack Tham of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce recently joined Massey Knakal Realty Services in Brooklyn. Tham, 40, is a broker in the Marine Park and Flatlands area.
“I think working on deals is in your blood,” Tham said. “When I worked for a nonprofit, I like to say that I worked more on relationship deals.”
Tham began the real estate and development program at the Brooklyn Chamber in 2003 to bring more development companies to Brooklyn. Tham helped line up nearly 350 commercial and residential projects in the pipeline for Brooklyn, he said. Now at Massey Knakal, Tham will work on investment sales for commercial, mixed-use and vacant land.
His territory, says Tham, is anchored by two big shopping centers. More than 250,000 square feet of retail space will be completed in 2007 on Avenue H, where a second Target will service Brooklyn. On the south end of Avenue U, Kings Plaza is becoming the well-known mall in the area. “More and more things are happening in the immediate area in terms of retail,” he said.
