James Mallozzi was named chairman and CEO of Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, according to a statement from Prudential Financial Services.
The group is the umbrella organization for Prudential Douglas Elliman, the largest New York City real estate brokerage.
Mallozzi’s appointment follows John Van Der Wall’s retirement, which takes effect at the end of the year. Van Der Wall has been with Prudential for 24 years. Mallozzi has been with Prudential since 2004, most previously as senior vice president of the Institutional Solutions Group in Prudential Retirement. Bernard Winograd, the COO of Prudential Financial, said that he was an ideal candidate for the spot.
“Jim has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities in the retirement businesses and has a proven track record of growing the businesses he has headed,” Winograd said.
