County approves Marlins stadium

The Miami-Dade County Commission approved the new Marlins stadium yesterday in a 9-3 vote, following a 4-1 victory for the plan in the Miami city commission. The project, expected to cost $619 million, is slated for completion by opening day of the 2011 baseball season. The plan calls for the city to pay for the $94 million parking garage.
