New crane rules for Miami-Dade

Following Tuesday’s fatal crane accident, a new ordinance regulating crane inspection and operator certification is in effect in Miami-Dade County starting today. The ordinance was originated following a 2006 fatal crane accident. Under the new rules, crane operators will have to pass both a written and practical test prior to using the equipment.
