Property tax assessment could move in homeowners’ favor

A Florida legislative panel has approved two bills that would give homeowners the upper hand when contesting tax assessments. If it becomes law, it will require county property appraisers to prove their tax assessments, rather than requiring homeowners to prove an assessment was wrong, as it is now.
