City commissioners have approved plans for a high-rise hotel, called Ocean Wave Beach Resort, to be built on a 1.8-acre parcel of Fort Lauderdale’s beachfront. The 22-story building will be located at 525 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, surrounded on either side by Trump International Hotel and Tower and Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The 375,000-square-foot project is expected to have 328 rooms and 423 parking spaces.
