South Florida home prices continue to drop while sales increase

Home prices dropped again in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast in March, while the number of sales picked up slightly in both counties, but still fell short of last year’s sales volumes. The median price of a single-family home in Palm Beach County fell 7 percent from February to $320,000, and home prices in Treasure Coast also decreased slightly to $169,700. Home sales, however, jumped 14 percent in Treasure Coast from a year ago, while in Palm Beach County sales increased by 43 percent from February to 572 homes in March. Palm Beach’s sales volume remains 21 percent below March 2007 levels.
