The Miami Dade County Commission voted Tuesday to release $275
million in construction funds slated for the new Miami Art Museum and
the Miami Science Museum at Bicentennial Park, ending a lengthy
political tangle over the use of Community Redevelopment Agency funds
for the project. Miami automobile dealer Norman Braman has filed a
lawsuit against county and city over a $3 billion plan to use CRA
funds to rebuild downtown, including Museum Park, the new Marlins
ballpark and the Port of Miami tunnel.
