Downtown Davie, a $90 million mixed-use project planned for a 12-acre
parcel at the corner of Griffin and Davie roads, has been held up by
legal problems for several years, and still not broken ground.
Developer Nob Hill Partners had planned 18 luxury townhouses, 227 condo
units, retail and offices, when the project was originally announced in
2003. Now, after a lawsuit from a neighboring developer and the
possibility of losing $2.5 million in public funds originally offered
for the project, Nob Hill says it needs another two years before the
project moves forward.
