A report by the Calvert Group investment firm finds the nation’s publicly-traded home building firms have yet to embrace the full potential of green construction. The study, prepared in cooperation with Boston College’s Institute for Responsible Investment, lists KB Home of Los Angeles as the leader in the group and puts Lennar Homes of Miami as fifth best. While 12 of the 13 companies have pledged to build only Energy Star homes, those pledges are limited to certain markets, most notably California, the report found.
