Rental projects could get $21 million in subsidies

A Miami-Dade County Commission committee has approved a subsidy package that could benefit 10 affordable rental projects in the works. About $15.8 million would go to these projects from a documentary surcharge on property sales, and another $5.4 million would come from the State Housing Initiative Partnership fund, which gets tax revenue from property sales. The measure has yet to be scheduled before the full county commission for final approval.
