Developer Downtown Miami Mall is redeveloping Omni Mall at 1601 Biscayne Boulevard and requesting property tax rebates valued at around $7 million in exchange for creating jobs at the complex. The Community Redevelopment Agency, comprised of three Miami city commissioners, will hear the proposal at their June 30th meeting. Downtown Miami plans to turn the 1.2 million-square-foot mall into 300,000 square feet of office space, to be called the Offices at Omni, as well as retail and a renovated Hilton Hotel. It estimates that the completed project will bring in 1,300 to 2,000 jobs.
