Sunny Isles agrees to slow bridge plans

City commissioners have agreed to delay the planning of a bridge in Sunny Isles Beach until August, after area residents opposed the plan at a May 15 meeting. The residents, mostly of Winston Towers and Porto Bellagio, argued that the project would draw additional noise, traffic, safety issues and unwanted development to the area. The proposed bridge would connect the two stretches of North Bay Road currently separated by water between 174th and 172nd streets.
