Index measures Palm Beach financial woes

Palm Beach Post reporter Jeff Ostrowski has compiled the Palm Beach
County Pocketbook Pain Index to measure the state of the economy there.
The index — which measures a combination of unemployment in Palm Beach
County, inflation in South Florida and the rate of seriously delinquent
mortgages in Florida — is at its highest level since 1982.
