Officials from the Publix supermarket chain are meeting with city officials and discussing the possibility of a new, larger store at its Palm Beach location, at 265 Sunset Avenue. The 36,000-square-foot store currently there is 40 years old; it has space limitations and has trouble keeping up with customer demand. Dana Little, director of urban design at the Stuart-based Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, said at a town board meeting last week that Publix told him some type of an expansion is definite. No time line or further details on changes at the Palm Beach store have been released yet.
