Christopher Winkelholz, the 27-year-old former president of the Whitehall at Pine Island Ridge condo complex in Davie, faces 70 years in prison for stealing $759,654 from its treasury. His neighbors say it’s not long enough. Winkelholz was arrested in October and in May pleaded no contest to two counts of grand theft and two counts of passing forged checks between June 2005 and October 2007. Broward circuit judge Pedro Dijols will sentence him Aug. 1, and state sentencing guidelines recommend four to five years. Neighbors want a longer term, saying his crimes have upended the finances of many retirees in the development.
