Don Saxon, Florida’s top mortgage industry regulator at the Office of Financial Regulation, faced angry protesters at his Miami office Thursday. The crowd of about 20 red vest-clad protesters from Association of Community Organization for Reform Now, known as Acorn, called for his resignation after revelations that more than 10,000 people with criminal records were able to sell mortgages in the state. Florida has one of the highest rates of mortgage fraud in the nation. Another Acorn protest was held in Orlando.
