Mortgage financer Fannie Mae will show up in person to help beleaguered South Floridians cope with the housing crash. The company plans to open a field office in Fort Lauderdale next week to assist in the sale of foreclosed homes and take other measures to help the market. Fannie Mae had 2,681 foreclosed properties in Florida and 54,173 nationwide as of June 30.
