Public auctions increase

Court-ordered sales of foreclosed homes have risen as more South
Florida homeowners default on their mortgages, boosting the number of
public auctions for distressed properties. While this method of sales
can offer a few bargains, Julian Dominguez, president of
FISreports.com, an auction information company in Miami-Dade County,
says most auction discounts aren’t as deep as bargain hunters may want.
Researching specific properties and getting an idea of their total debt
is critical to a successful purchase, he says.
