Property tax plan to Supreme Court

Amendment 5, the controversial plan to scrap property taxes for school financing that was blocked from the November 4 ballot by a Leon County judge, will head to the Florida Supreme Court. The state First District Court of Appeal passed it on directly to the top court without a ruling. Oral arguments in the case are scheduled for September 8.
