Starwood Capital Group Global has obtained an $84 million renovation loan for its 433-room hotel, the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. ING Real Estate Finance funded the loan, which will be used to convert the property, located at 321 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, from the Sheraton Yankee Trader Beach Hotel to the Westin hotel. Upon completion, the resort will have more than 32,000 square feet of meeting an event space, including a 10,000-square-foot ballroom.
