Citizens Insurance decreases premiums for hurricane-resistant homes

Citizens Property Insurance policy holders may see their rates drop. Citizens is offering new discounts for hurricane-resistant features like stronger roofs, shutters and hurricane-impact glass. The discounts begin next month for condo and apartment owners, and is already starting for single-family homes. Policy holders can expect up to a 10 to 40 percent decrease on premiums.
