Homeowners Choice to take more Citizens Policies

State regulators will allow Homeowners Choice Property & Casualty Co. to increase its policy takeout authorization from Citizens Property Insurance Corp., a move that will allow Clearwater-based Homeowners to take out 95,000 policies, up from 30,000. Homeowners CEO F. X. McCahill said the company would use the authorization to assume additional policies over the next few months, provided they meet stringent underwriting criteria.
