Affluent snowbirds are ponying up as much as $11,000 a month to rent homes in Mirasol, the country club community in Palm Beach Gardens. Elyse Schneiderman, an agent at Lang Realty, reports bidding wars among renters. In one case, a deal to rent a home for $10,000 a month for four months was trumped by an offer to take the house at the same rate for six months. She says people are paying astronomical prices for rental properties.
