S. Florida down market to continue till 2010

The downturn in the South Florida real estate market will continue until 2010, industry pros said at today’s RealShare South Florida conference in Miami. Mark Vitner, managing director and senior economist at Wachovia Corp., said the housing slump was at the root of Florida’s economic downturn. Gene Berman, senior vice president and managing director at Marcus & Millichap, said the retail, industrial, and suburban sectors will be the next sectors to have trouble.
