Florida men face fraud charges in $40M mortgage scam

Four Florida men have been
charged with fraud for using straw buyers and fake loan applications to apply
for $40 million worth of mortgages on more than 50 properties in Florida, New York and Nevada. Peter Affatati
of Coral Springs, Anthony Affatati of Parkland,
Anthony Louis Cuomo of Coral Springs, and Brian
Schlitz of Boca Raton were charged, the U.S. attorney’s
office announced yesterday.
