The state will not see any economic revival for several years, a pair of economists told statewide economic development agency Enterprise Florida at its quarterly meeting. University of Florida economists said the state has been in a recession for about a year, and a national recession and financial crisis will compound the problem. They predicted that the state will remain in a recession through the third quarter of next year. Then the economy will likely remain flat until 2011, when a new influx of retired baby boomers could bring growth back.
