Antony Dehaney, the third defendant in a $10 million Broward County mortgage fraud scheme, pleaded guilty to mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud, federal prosecutors in South Florida announced. Dehaney, 56, of Coral Springs and Lauderhill, pleaded guilty to the charges in connection to a straw borrower scheme in which loan documents were falsified in order to steal proceed money from fraudulent home sales. Co-defendants Marcia Mestre and Angela Manalaysay pleaded guilty to their roles in the scheme in September. Four other alleged perpetrators are awaiting trial.
