Florida Department of Financial Services accuses pastor and radio host
Rodney McGill and mortgage broker Shalonda McGill of duping listeners
of McGill’s show and committing more widespread fraud. The McGills were
arrested last month on allegations that they saddled investors with
$1.1 million in mortgages on four homes in Martin and St. Lucie
counties after telling African-American listeners how to make money in
real estate. Now, Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink says the
scam has grown to $5 million and includes accusations about a condo
scheme in Orlando.
