Fort Lauderdale city commissioners will vote tonight on a proposal for a 19-story hotel-condo on the site of a parking lot at 2939 Banyan Street. Developer El-Ad Fl Beach hopes to build a 256-room hotel with 41 residential condos on the top floors and nearly 8,000 square feet of restaurant space on the ground floor. The plan, which the city’s planning and zoning board approved last month, is unique because it involves property that does not face the beach or the Intracoastal Waterway.
