Fort Lauderdale approves hotel and condo

Fort Lauderdale city commissioners voted 4-1 last night to approve a
proposal for a 19-story hotel and condo on the site of a parking lot at
2939 Banyan Street. Developer Elad Properties hopes to build a 256-room
hotel with 41 residential condos on the top floors and nearly 8,000
square feet of restaurant space on the ground floor.
