Foreclosures up in Miami-Dade and Broward

October foreclosures rose in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, according to data from RealtyTrac, a
foreclosure tracking firm. Foreclosures were up between September and October
by 159 percent in Miami-Dade and 9 percent in Broward. The year-over-year
increase was 97 percent in Miami-Dade and 53 percent in Broward. In Miami-Dade, one out of every 93 homes is headed into foreclosure or already owned by the
bank, while that number is one out of every 114 homes in Broward. Economists
said they expect area foreclosures to continue rising.
