The National Multi Housing Council and National Apartment
Association, two organizations that work with rental properties, have
issued a statement criticizing homebuyer incentives such as a
tax credit and a federally financed lowering of mortgage interest
rates. The two organizations
claim that these incentives will not fix anything except the oversupply
of
single-family homes. “Oversupply situations happen in every industry,
and
the housing industry will recover with or without Congressional
action,”
the statement said.
