Stadium plans won’t help economy, columnist says

Miami Herald columnist Fred Grimm argues that the plan to
build a new stadium and parking garage in Miami for the Florida Marlins won’t
actually do much for the city’s economy. He talks to a University of Alberta
economist, Brad Humphreys, co-editor of The
Business of Sports, who says economists widely agree that sports
facilities, old or new, have no tangible results for local economies.
