Baker Development files for bankruptcy

Aventura-based Baker Development, which developed property
in Baker County, west of Jacksonville, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The
company has up to $50 million in assets and the same amount in liabilities. Baker
Development’s projects included Navona Creek, an 8,000-unit home development, golf course and
business park, the plans for which were launched in 2006. The company was
dissolved by the Secretary of State’s office October 20.
