Boca Raton’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee will hold
a public hearing tomorrow on a report it compiled that includes recommendations for
affordable housing in the city. The report discusses policies that would
encourage affordable housing near transit hubs and opportunities for the city
to acquire land for affordable housing. The report also recommends that the
city pursue incentives for developers who create additional rental housing in Boca
Raton. The city’s current policies only provide financial assistance to
first-time home buyers. The housing committee will present its report to
the City Council in early December.
