Mortgage lottery held in Miami-Dade today

A lottery held at Miami-Dade County Hall today will give some aspiring
homeowners second mortgages. Forty-five of the 138 people who have
registered for the lottery will win some amount of money from the
county’s $3,520,000 mortgage pot. The individual mortgages can go as
high as $80,000 and are intended for low- and moderate-income buyers
who don’t qualify for enough bank financing to purchase a home.
