Job losses in the third quarter kept Florida in the top spot nationally
for foreclosures, according to data released today by the Mortgage
Bankers Association. Job losses and falling home prices sent another
90,000 homes into foreclosure last quarter, leaving 7.32 percent of
Florida homes in foreclosure. The state with the second highest number
of foreclosures, Nevada, had 5.58 percent of its homes in foreclosure.
Florida has lost 156,000 jobs this year, the highest amount in the
country.
