Sonesta chairman Sonnabend dead at 83

Sonesta International Hotels Chairman Roger Sonnabend died Sunday at
his home in Key Biscayne after complications of kidney disease. He was
83. Sonnabend was a pioneer in the South Florida hotel industry. Sonesta has a hotel in Coconut Grove and
plans a new one in Sunny Isles Beach. The company made its biggest mark
on Key Biscayne, where the pyramid-shaped Sonesta Key Biscayne is one of the region’s iconic hotels.
