Foreclosures double since 2007

Foreclosure filings nationwide dropped in November compared to October, but in 2008, Miami-Dade County has already seen double the number of foreclosures it had in 2007. Almost 51,000 mortgages have entered foreclosure in the county in the first 11 months of this year. In all of 2007, 27,000 mortgages went into foreclosure in Miami-Dade County. In 2005, during the housing bubble, there were only 7,800 foreclosure filings in the county for the whole year.
